Park Creatures
2010-07-12

A few days ago, when the weather was fine (which means the temperature was over 30 Celsius), I took a long (by my standard) bike ride to see my dentist.

On the way home, I drop in at a large park to have a break.

Sitting on the bench, I realised that in this park there were some creatures that I rarely come across in my everyday life.

Please let me introduce a few of them.

Red-eared turtles

My brother used to keep this turtle at home, but it was much smaller than this park turtle, though my brother’s lived for more than 10 years then.  I’ve heard that many red-eared turtles settled down in parks with ponds after getting thrown away by their owners.

But there were too many! Have they been breeding in this pond?

As the temperature was over 31 Celsius and the humidity was 53%, I wish I were a turtle!

Runners who punish themselves

This park is people’s favourite running/walking site equipped with running courses. Actually it feels quite refreshing to stroll around in gentle breeze.

But how about running in this maddening mugginess?
