When a mousewheel doesn’t work (in my case, I couldn’t scroll the screen though the wheel spun), it might be worth trying to dust the little gap between the wheel and the body of the mouse.
This little bunny (picture above) solved my problem by squeeze out the dust with its flexible little legs which can fit into any narrow gap. I was shocked how much dust was trapped in such a small space,
slightly feeling my housekeeping skill is challenged...Have I left my place so dusty that even this small space is filled with dust? ….Anyway, after a quick dusting, the wheel started working again scrolling up and down the screen.
Actually, I mentioned about this little desk-top gadget 2 years ago here, and this time it did its biggest work: Saving my mouse!
However, I don’t think this method always works. If you try, please do it at your own risk.
